Grass pellets production possibilities

The biomass harvested from grasslands can be used for the production of grass pellets. Processing technologies have already been sufficiently developed for this product, the technological process includes drying biomass in natural conditions or in a special dryer, grinding it and pressing in pellets.

The initially planned activity for the demonstration of grass pellet production in the frame of the project was not implemented, because the production on a larger scale appeared to be financially infeasible and also the drop out of the farm “Skujas” who was in charge for this activity caused the significant changes  for the implementation of this activity. For demonstration to a lesser extent, lack of interested entrepreneurs and appropriate production facilities for grass pellet production were obstacles.
